Studio glam + Celebration Vibes

About a month and a half ago, I received an inquiry that instantly lit me up—a 40th birthday photoshoot! Yasmin reached out wanting to do something special for herself to mark the occasion. Her vision? A studio session with a slightly boudoir vibe—nothing too over the top, just something beautiful, empowering, and fun. She described it as “classy but a little spicy.” And I was immediately in.

Milestone birthdays like this one are such a powerful time to reflect, celebrate, and feel confident in your skin. So when someone reaches out to document that energy, it’s always an honor. And when I found out she planned to bring balloons and cake to the shoot? I knew this was going to be a celebration in every sense of the word.

At the time, I didn’t have private access to a studio space, so I got to work finding the right spot. I ended up booking The Green Room Creative Studio in Brandon, FL—and wow, it was the perfect match. The studio was clean, stylish, and full of natural light. As soon as we stepped in, the space filled with music, laughter, and that unmistakable feeling of good vibes. From the very first shot, it felt like we were just hanging out, celebrating, and capturing some real magic along the way.

Yasmin brought such a vibrant, joyful energy to the session. She was confident, radiant, and totally in her element. We mixed in a few boudoir-inspired poses with more playful, celebratory ones—balloons in hand, cake at the ready. It was everything a birthday shoot should be: bold, beautiful, and deeply personal.

Let’s talk gear:

For this shoot, I brought along my Sony A7Sii with my trusty 85mm f/1.8 prime lens. I love this combo for intimate portraits. The crispness, the depth of field, and the dreamy background blur it creates—it all helps bring out the emotion in every shot. Yes, it’s a prime lens, so I had to get creative with my positioning (there were definitely moments I had to “melt” into the wall to get the right angle!), but every image was so worth it.

I always say that photography is about more than just pretty pictures—it’s about the energy in the room, the intention behind the shoot, and the experience we create together. Yasmin reminded me of that in the best way. She showed up ready to celebrate herself, to feel beautiful, and to honor this new chapter in her life. That confidence! That joy! That’s what we captured—and that’s what made this session so special.

Happy 40th, Yasmin!

Thank you for trusting me to document such a powerful and fun moment in your life. I’m so grateful I got to be part of your celebration, and I hope these photos always remind you of the beauty and strength you carry into every year ahead.
