WHO IS TALULA?

When I was younger, my mom was a big fan of Tallulah Bankhead—a talented actress, comedian, and advocate for racial equality. Inspired by her, my mom started calling me "Tallulah" as a nickname.

As a kid, I didn’t really know the backstory or even how to spell the name correctly, so I just wrote it as “Talula.” By the time I learned the proper spelling and the full connection, I had already started my photography journey under Talula's Photography—and at that point, it just felt right! So, my mom and I decided to embrace the unique spelling, and the name stuck!

WHY PHOTOGRAPHY?

It all started back in middle school when I walked up to the ITV teacher and asked, “How do you make the morning announcements? Do you just upload videos to PowerPoint?” She chuckled and invited me into her classroom to show me the studio and how everything came together. I was instantly hooked—and just like that, I switched classes!

When it came time to choose a high school, I discovered a local magnet school with a Motion Picture Arts (MPA) program. I auditioned, got accepted, and my love for film and digital media only grew. Through that experience, I also developed a passion for photography.

Fast forward to 2020, I finally took the leap and officially launched Talula Photography—turning my passion into reality!
