A night to remember - and photograph

This prom season, I had the absolute honor of photographing two stunning best friends as they celebrated one of the biggest nights of their lives. We met at none other than the University of Tampa—a location that felt like it was made for this photo session! Between the shiny marble floors and the stunning Moorish Revival architecture—with its dreamy domes and dramatic arches—I was obsessed from the moment I arrived.


But we weren’t alone.


It turns out UT is a hot spot for photo sessions—think brides and grooms, quinceañeras, graduating seniors, and even business pros updating their headshots. It was like a secret gathering of creatives and their clients, each celebrating something big. You’d expect chaos, right? But nope. It was like we were all in sync, each group flowing around one another like a perfectly choreographed dance. No one stepped into another’s shot, everyone gave each other space, and somehow we all managed to get the shot without stress. A total win.

Prom night—arguably the most anticipated social event of the high school experience. From jaw-dropping statement dresses and sleek tuxedos to the crowning of prom king and queen, it's basically the teen version of the Met Gala. These few magical hours have been on your senior’s radar since freshman year, and when the night finally arrives, it’s pure main character energy.


As a parent, this is your moment too. It’s not just about the corsages and car rides—it’s about capturing a milestone. These are the photos they’ll look back on for years, and trust me, you don’t want to be that parent who forgot to document the night. Celebrate their style, their friendships, and this huge moment in their journey. They’ve earned it—and so have you.

We started at the back of the main building, tucked away in a quiet pocket of greenery and elegant stairs—perfect for intimate moments with the girls and their families. From there, we made our way toward the front, where all the buzz was. And despite the energy and movement around us, my clients shined. The confidence, the glam, the excitement—it was all there, and it translated beautifully on camera.


This shoot reminded me exactly why I love what I do. The photography community showed up with kindness, and my clients brought their full selves to the moment. Prom isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling good. And these girls? They were radiant.
