a glowing graduation photoshoot!

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the beautiful and incredibly creative Oliver as she begins celebrating her high school graduation. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
Oliver’s session was nothing short of amazing. She brought two outfits that perfectly showcased her personality and style. The first look was a total Shaggy-from-Scooby-Doo-inspired masterpiece! She rocked brown corduroy pants, a green cropped halter top, and a super cute crocheted flower belt— which, fun fact, was actually a headband she repurposed (talk about next-level creativity!). And of course, she completed the look with her classic cap and gown. This outfit was entirely her own creation, and it was so fun and unique—just like Oliver herself!
But then… cue the drumroll … she stepped out in a jaw-dropping, sparkly purple gown that made her look like a real-life princess! ✨ It was such a magical moment. You could see her confidence shine the moment she put it on, and honestly, it was impossible not to be in awe!
For this session, I used my Sony A7Sii paired with my 85mm f/1.8 lens, and for the first time ever, I used my external flash for the entire shoot! I mounted it on my hot shoe because I wanted to keep that beautiful late-afternoon glow while making sure Oliver stayed perfectly lit against the bright, open sky. The result? A stunning natural backlight that made her absolutely glow!
Since Oliver wanted a natural setting, I knew a park would be the perfect choice. The mix of lush greenery and open skies created a beautiful contrast with her outfit choices while still keeping everything balanced and effortlessly gorgeous.
This session was such a joy, and I’m so grateful I got to capture this milestone moment for Oliver. She’s stepping into the next chapter of her life with style, confidence, and a whole lot of sparkle—both inside and out!
