Virginia Beach Maternity Session

I was so excited about this session from the very start! For a little backstory — my sister lives in Virginia, and during one of my trips to visit her and my sweet nephew, I stumbled across the most beautiful location. I remember thinking, I have to do a photoshoot here one day.
A few months later, my sister’s friend Kiara reached out about booking a maternity session. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect — I was planning another trip to Virginia in just a few weeks. I immediately knew exactly where I wanted to take her and her husband, Grant. When I suggested the location, Kiara was just as excited as I was, and that made me even more thrilled to make this vision come to life.
When we arrived, the spot was everything I had remembered and more — rocky terrain, wild shrubbery, and the most gorgeous blue sky stretching over the water. I grabbed my Sony a7sii and my favorite 85mm 1.8 lens and quite literally ran all over that beach (the best kind of photographer workout).
Grant and Kiara were such a joy to work with — kind, caring, and absolutely glowing with excitement for their little one’s arrival. Sessions like these remind me why I love what I do so much — getting to celebrate such meaningful moments with wonderful people.
